Nismo Cold Air Intake
#1
I just installed the Nismo CAI yesterday into my 08. It fit in perfectly, everything lined up real nice. Took less than an hour total.

I've definitely lost low end torque, but it made up for it on the high end. She howls when you hit the 4k power band. I broke a wheel loose shifting hard into 3rd (not just a chirp). Combined with the growl this makes and the extra response I get from the throttle I'd say this is a really worth buying. If I was towing, I'd probably have to opt for something different, this brings out more 'sport' from the motor. I've found that where I usually shift into 6th, just over 40mph that I can't do that anymore. There's no power there at those RPMs. So I do have to adjust my driving habits.

I reset my MPG gauge and I really can't say anything definite yet (only been a day), but it's reading 1.5-2.0 MPG better than before. Of course, with this installed I'm just looking for excuses to romp on the throttle so I think my net MPG is lower. 165

A lot of places had it listed as 05-07, but it does indeed fit 08. I got it from thenismoshop.com for $175 + $40 shipping (ouch) for $215 total. Not too bad. Best price I could find.

For what it's worth, there's a huge thread discussing 05+ CAI's over at http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/f11/ ... ead-10401/ (are we allowed to link to other forums?)

I will have to come smog time for my Titan. Sandi wont have to swap hers out because with the stillen supercharger they would only use the stock intake or they would not warrantee it. go figure, cai is not legal but the blower is? 179

Welcome to the Spot.

Now you need a 2 degree timing advance and your low end returns in addition to high end. Of course after that you will need an exhaust system.

The mod bug begins.
