Got a little snow this morning and stopped on my way to work to snap some pics; glad I did as most of the snow had melted away by 10am.

I never had a drive to work with that kind of scenery. It looks like a nice place to ride a dirt bike.

After several days of grey rainy weather to end last week when the sun and clear skies appeared yesterday afternoon I decided to set out and shoot some waterfalls knowing there would be plenty of water flowing. But alas I'm on call this month so hiking about in the middle of nowhere was a no go; after a brief google search I decided upon Natural Dam as it is right off the road side.

Your photos make me want to move to Arkansas.

I assure you that Arkansas (at least the northwest corner) is more picturesque than any where along eastern Oklahoma (haven't been much further west than the Tulsa area). Driving to DFW is a struggle to stay awake since once you turn onto I40 toward Eufala then south on US69 is so much drab browns and little variation of scenery till you get to the Red River (and honestly I only like the Red River because of the cool old train bridge).

What we lack in scenery we make up for in common sense.

Wow, those pics are great!! My camera has the capability to shoot those kinds of pic but there's a loose nut behind the lens that won't take the time to watch the two part video he bought to help learn how to do it.

Don't feel bad, I've got a PhotoVision subscription and haven't gotten around to watching any of the DVDs yet. I'm almost entirely self taught, just shoot what looks good/interesting to me and not be afraid of experimenting.

Excellent pics again Phelan!
I also pays to have an eye for the subject.

Thanks, but I see that they are putting us under another alert this evening. Will it never end? On the bright side we have certainly been getting a lot of rain.

Another Independence Day passed and I still have all my appendages so I must count it a success. Got the opportunity to shoot some behind the scenes photos for an area fireworks crew that I've worked with in the past during what is one of their biggest shows of the year.

Great shots. That is an interesting view of the show. I like how he has his head turned and ready to run.

He did literally run from it, that was his first step! Can't blame him though as he was essentially surrounded by live racks of shells.

Tonight was the finale of this year's Rodeo of the Ozarks event and as usual was capped off with fireworks. Managed to score a nearly unobstructed view of the show in a parking lot across the street from the firing line; though being parallel to the firing line wasn't the plan it worked out pretty well.

Here's some highlights, the entire gallery is at: http://www.davisphotoworks.com/fireworks...ozarks2013
