Book Review Thread
#1
Well, we have a movie review thread,,,

I cannot believe I am starting this thread!!! I am not a book reader, but KRH2 urged me to read Lone Survivor, by Marcus Lutrell Texan/SEAL. My utmost respect for him and the rest the special forces out there. Absolutely awesome book. If it doesn't bring a tear to your eye and a giant Red, White, and Blue pounding throb in your chest, then you are not an American. I read a chapter here or there, but when I hit Chapter 7, I didn't stop til I finished at 3:00AM the next morning.

Anyway, took my daughter to Barnes and Knoble tonight. I found myself strolling through the History and Military section, and picked up 2 more books. We'll see how they go.

Seal Warrior, by Master Chief Thomas H. Keith, Seal Team 2
and Chasing Ghosts, by Paul Rieckhoff

Gotta make a 3 week trip to Japan in September, so I take 1 with me for sure for the looooooooong flight there and back.

Read on me brothers! Still scary, thinking about me sitting around reading!

I read the trilogy; Mission Compromised, The Jerico Sanction and The Assassins by Oliver North and could not put the books down until I finished all three. They are so real sounding that I know beyond a reasonable doubt that they were taken from his real life experiences. I highly recommend them.

Wow, I think I might have to pick these up. I don't read much but when I do and I'm engaged by it. I find it really hard to put it down or not think about it to return to it. Lol.

Liz, trust me "Lone survivor" will be a tear filled one day read. My copy was mailed to my Titan bros in Texas, not sure who has it now (been passed around a lot) but I know it was tear stained by me and now Im sure it is in really bad shape.... I follow Marcus Lutrell on facebook. Dude is nails. God Bless.

I wasn't going to read this thread because I have gotton away from reading books. However, after reading these comments I might be tempted to open one.

I love to read, but mostly do it during the winter months when my gardening time is minimal. I learn a lot and it keeps my mind active since it requires imagination as opposed to TV where it is all spelled out for you.
